How to Optimize Your Social Media Profile

 

Your profile needs to be optimized AND aesthetically pleasing to reach your target audience.

Here are a few things to do to optimize your profile:

  1. Clear Profile Picture: Use a high-quality photo that accurately represents your biz. Make sure it is the right size! This can be your logo or something similar that represents your business.

  2. Website Link: Your website needs to be accessible at all times. Link it in your bio. This is crucial on Instagram as you cannot use links in your posts like on Facebook posts.

  3. Call to Action: Make sure you have “Message Us” or “Email” buttons sent up and ready to go. Your phone number or email address should be easily accessible.

  4. Keywords: Use keywords in your bio to increase search-ability & give viewers a better idea of what your business does.

  5. Business Profile: Specifically for Facebook, your business page needs to be set up as a business page. You should not have to accept friend requests for your business page.

  6. Highlights/Featured Images: Make sure to set up Highlights or pinned images on Instagram using covers that match your branding and give viewers quick access to information they need. On Facebook, you would do this by pinning content to your featured section. Some information that viewers need quick access to could be details about how you are & what you do.

  7. Name: Obviously you need to have your name but ADD. A. KEYWORD. behind it. This is specific to Instagram. For example, my "name" on Instagram is "Paige | Social Media Manager" & my username is my business name. This helps my "search-ability" on Instagram.
